About us

Who we are

Chosen to Serve is a faith-based nonprofit organization. Started in 2019, we are a humanitarian group that strives to uplift communities by helping those in need of assistance. The idea is to spread a message of love and compassion the same way Jesus did. Jesus had a positive impact on the society he was a part of. He did this by spreading the message of truth and by showing empathy towards the most downtrodden of the society. At Chosen to Serve we sincerely believe in following Jesus’ footsteps.

Our Approach

Our Mission
Chosen to Serve nonprofit has a wide network all across North East Florida as we provide support to those in need. We aid communities through poverty alleviation programs such as food drives and we are focused on the most marginalized segments of society like children, families, homelessness, eldery and disable veterans so they can become productive citizens of society. There are other organizations, like Duval County nonprofits or Jacksonville nonprofits. However, Chosen to Serve is unique. Our endeavors are driven by the ultimate objective of not just helping people out of poverty but also enabling them to become capable enough to help others as well, creating a domino effect whereby small actions result in significant change for the betterment of the society at large. The idea is to turn North East Florida into a flourishing community economically and socially.
Our Vision
We Helping others does not just improve the well-being of an individual or a family; it has a wholesome impact on society. Chosen to Serve is involved in providing food to the poor, educating children, and helping people, especially the elderly and veterans, get access to basic healthcare services. Encouraging entrepreneurship is a key part of our operations as it empowers people and enables them to become self-sufficient.

North East Florida -
A Snapshot

North East Florida, the region consisting of Baker, Bradford, Clay, Duval, and Nassau counties, is a part of Florida that has received little attention. As a consequence, the region suffers from underdevelopment and neglect which further compounds the issue. Statistics indicate that the median annual income for North East Florida averaged (See number on side).

While poverty has declined from 16.1% to 14.4%, the truth is that 24% of children below the age of 5 years reside in households that fall below the poverty line as defined by the Federal government.
